Hydrogen East and Hydrogen South West announced as partners
Hydrogen East and Hydrogen South West join Hydrogen UK and Decarbonised Gas Alliance (DGA) as Official Partners for the UK’s first official Hydrogen Week, a dedicated campaign celebrating and promoting the role of hydrogen in reaching net zero.
Hydrogen East is dedicated to stimulating and accelerating the hydrogen economy, bringing together interested parties and key stakeholders. Leading on the development of an East of England hydrogen cluster. They are committed to raising awareness of existing, potential and innovative hydrogen opportunities across all sectors.
During Hydrogen Week, Hydrogen East will provide insights into the clean hydrogen cluster in the East of England and provide innovative ideas on cross-sector system integration and routes for hydrogen application.
They will also raise awareness of the need and use of secure sustainable water availability and the importance of hydrogen production.
Johnathan Reynolds, Managing Director, Opergy & Founding Director, Hydrogen East said:
“We are delighted to collaborate with Hydrogen Week to accelerate the hydrogen economy and represent hydrogen in the East of England region. Our strong Net Zero transition presence and robust clean energy foundations sit well with the early development of a clean hydrogen cluster. The event will provide opportunities to strengthen collaboration across sectors, hydrogen value chains and UK regions.”
Andy Holyland, General Manager, Hydrogen East & Net Zero East said:
“Hydrogen Week will bring together the entire hydrogen value chain from producers, distributors, and end-users to cooperate and share their best practice and leverage parallel opportunities and skills. We are keen to acknowledge the challenges of hydrogen supply and use, balanced by the vast opportunities that will further support the UK as a global low carbon hydrogen leader.”
Hydrogen South West enables businesses and communities to create cross-sectoral partnerships that drive the development of hydrogen infrastructure and technology.
The ecosystem comprises leading brands easyJet, Airbus and EDF; industrial heavyweights GKN; consultants and engineers Costain and Wood; and regional leaders Bristol Port, Bristol Airport, Wales and West Utilities and Wessex Water.
This combination of industrial experience, delivery expertise and regional knowledge presents a formidable opportunity to accelerate the UK’s transition to alternative power at scale.
Simon Earles, Chair of Hydrogen South West (HSW) said:
“Hydrogen South West (HSW) is driving the development of hydrogen infrastructure across the South West, and beyond, by generating investment for projects outside heavy industrial clusters. Our ecosystem contains the industrial experience, delivery expertise and regional knowledge to accelerate the UK’s transition to alternative power at scale.
“We are proud to be a part of Hydrogen Week, which is the ideal platform for businesses and clusters to explore both the challenges and opportunities hydrogen presents. Such forums facilitate further development of the evolving hydrogen economy – a fundamental part of delivering Net Zero.”
