Riverside College – Hydrogen Awareness & Future Skills
Riverside College is an Ofsted Outstanding FE College in the Liverpool City Region with approximately 3500 full time 16-18 year old students currently studying at the college. They have a strong heritage of providing engineering training and have heavily invested in state of the art training facilities to meet regional employer needs. This has culminated in the college developing Hydrogen training programmes in collaboration with key employers including Intergen, Cadent and Fastflow.
As part of Hydrogen Week the college will be undertaking a range of activities to promote Hydrogen developments in the region and future career opportunities. This will include:
- Key industry speakers
- Student visits to local power station who will be generating power burning Hydrogen gas
- Presentation of industry linked training rig to college – sponsored by Intergen/Rock Savage
- Launching a Hydrogen competition across college to raise the awareness of future skills/careers especially in their local region
- Production video to be commissioned and used in future promotion to schools
- Hydrogen Awareness event being incorporated into all full-time student tutorials
- Virtual Reality workshop on Hydrogen Safety
- Release of case studies from new bespoke Hydrogen courses developed by Riverside College
